Kellie Pickler’s Prom Dress?
Little Kellie Pickler. Little cute, country fried Kellie and her talk of Tarantula’s (fake eye lashes) and minks (Simon called her a minx) has the whole country fooled. She’s not as sweet and innocent as she would have us believe. Case in Point: Her prom dress. (DListed story & photo source) Holy shit. That’s what I would expect to see if I rubbed a magic lamp, not on my date at the prom. I’m from the south and girls didn’t dress like that at the prom. I’ve never seen a dress with the “thong look” built in. That’s got to make your odds of scoring on prom night rise like, 1067% or something. After the slow dance you’ve already been to third base.
Kellie has perfected the aw-shucks, country-come-to-town act that her contemporaries Britney (who didn’t have to act it) and Jessica (who is trying to shed it) brought into the mainstream. There’s no doubt she’s hot. There’s also no doubt that she knows it, and will use it to get what she wants. If you don’t see it, then she had you at “bless your heart”. I’m from the south too and let me say that modesty really depends on the side of the tracks you are raised on. In some southern towns you have Churches, in others you have stop lights and strip bars. Career opportunities! That said, Kellie’s dress does seem a bit more risqué than the average dress, but proms these days are becoming more of a hoe-down anyway. If it ain’t tight and showing off the package, then you aren’t the center of attention and will be standing around talking to yourself.

Hey guys i fully disagree with you all. Ok i see your point about her prom dress but we are in the year 2006. Things change. I think that whats her face Mcphee is nice but come on Kellie is much better than her. Kellie is my fave out of the whole lot. Southern Belles have always been as dumb as they wanted to be, to their advantage of course. Few are.
Kellie reminds me tremendously of Dolly Parton. You know that blond bombshell hooker copy cat, who laughs with you………..all the way to the bank!
Of course the dress is differant. It takes guts to get up on Idol. A certain amount in your face comes in handy. To wear that dress in the south in a small town, well gents, its not being a whore, its saying, I am strong enough to rise above yall small thinking dont take no risks backwoods rule making gossipers, so here is something yall can talk about. And I have no doubt, she laughed at everyone as they did. Then again, she is on national televison, heading for stardome and riches, while we just watch her dust fly behind her.

Let’s all face it……Kellie is a hot girl and she really is not that smart. There aren’t too many girls from this one horse town of Albemarle that has had the chance to make it “BIG”. I don’t think there is anything wrong with her prom dress. Whoever sent you the picture of her in the dress, is probably jealous because they wouldn’t look like that in it. She is a beautiful person inside and out. Yes, she may be using some of the past problems to make it, but who wouldn’t in her situation? I don’t blame her for doing whatever it takes to stay on the show for as long as she can. This is an opportunity of a life time for her. I hope she makes it to the end and wins the show. If not, we here in small town Albemarle are proud of her anyway. We’re all a bunch oc country hicks and we’re actually proud of it. I wouldn’t change a thing that Kellie has done, and thinks she has did a proud job of representing us from Albemarle, N.C.

Kellie Pickler couldn’t sing to save her life. She doesn’t even begin to have the class that the other two women on American Idol have. We all really wish she would drop the I’m so stupid I’m cute act. It is sickening and it is has gotten old. And…..I don’t know a single school that would have even allowed a dress like that into their high school prom. It is very improper. It is totally against the dress code in normal schools. Why are you so sure this is Her prom dress?? Could it be, that she just tried this dress on and someone snapped a pic.. Everyone is so quick to jump to conclusions. I think Kellie is a cute kid, and sings fairly well. Although this week wasnt so good for her. But geesh its sounding like a bit of jealousy going on here, or at least armchair quarterbacking. Im orig from NC and im just happy that she has made it as far as she has. Is someone who goes after their dream is a bad thing huh. No wait it must be good ..because it gives you something to bash, hate, belittle. Is your life so sad that you have to trash someone else to make yourself feel better. I personally wouldn’t be able to stand up in front of America and let them find all my flaws because I have tons of them and so does everyone else. I guess someone has to be brave enough to get up there and let America bash them (American Idol or Celebrities either one) to keep all the housewives that are on this page busy talking about something other than things that actually matter, maybe we need to pay more attention to our own kids (believe me your kids aren’t perfect) and teach them right from wrong, than worry about what other kids are doing and then this world might just might be a little better.

Where have you people been? Look around, modesty is a rare attribute among the young these days. I saw enough “crack” growing up with the “plumbers butt” and now it’s the trend among the “low rise” wearers.
Need I remind everyone, Kellie did make it to the top 6. She obviously did something right. Maybe the previous contestants should have been so “dumb”.
I hate it when people say their children would never do that or dress that way, maybe not in their parents presence. I haven’t come across a teen that wasn’t sneaky and/or curious. I love my kids, but I’m not blind to the pressures and curiosities they may have. Be careful of what you say, it may come back to bite you in the butt.
People are too quick to judge others they do know not to mention others they have never even met.

I don’t think that’s Kellie Pickler… Doesn’t even look like her. This girl’s eyes are too close together, her cheeks are fuller, and her chin is too pointy. I hate Idol (even though I usually tune in each week). I hate it because what people start saying about the contestants. Pickler was just trying to live her dream and who can really blame her for that. I don’t think she was the strongest singer in the competition, probably went out about where she should have, but is her success on the show somehow her “fault”. I kind of find it funny how people belittle successful people. Not that she is successful yet but she is surely more successful than anyone writing on here. I grew up in a very small town, less than 300 people so I know when someone does something successful it is a big deal. I also know that in small towns there are the people that support and are proud of you and the people that are jealous and talk behind your back. That small town in NC should be damn proud of Kellie and all she has done.

For all you non believers out there, yes that is Kellie, and yes, that was her prom dress. I know many people that were there and saw it themselves. She’s hot. Get over it already. I’m sure that there are girls all over the country that dress the same way. . . only they’re not famous. . . and they’re probably your daughters and sisters. . . and probably getting tagged right now as we speak behind a dumpster at Denny’s. We are all proud of Kellie and all that she has done. It is about time someone from this town was able to do well for themselves. It goes to show that Albemarle is more than meets the eye. All of you who are going on and on about her dress, get over it. If I looked like that and could away with it, I would wear it too. Kelly may be no angel but that is not for us to decide. She made it on American Idol, she got the attention she was looking for and someone who is jealous of here goes and tries to make her out to be trash but we do not know her personally and we can not judge a book by its cover. We know Kelly from American Idol and we hear things from people who say “they know her.” Give the girl some credit. She can sing and she is beautiful. As a North Carolinian I have been very proud of all the contestants from North Carolina… Kellie, Chris, and Bucky.
I am in no position to judge anybody. As far as I know, no other person on this site has walked down the same path in life as Kellie. I, for one, am inspired by a young person who has been faced with many challenges in her life, and has clearly learned to cope, rise above the chatter of small-minded people, remain grounded in spite of an absent mother and father, and hold her head high while chasing her dreams.
As far as the dress is concerned, bottomline…she pulls it off. If I had a frame like that I’d probably wear it, too…at least around the house (ha)!
Last time I checked a garment doesn’t determine whether or not you are promiscuous (or as the “mother” put it, SLUTTY). If that were the case, then every woman in Hollywood, famous or not, would be considered SLUTTY (think Jennifer Lopez and the green dress, Jen Aniston and the black number with the plunging neckline and down the back, or Paris Hilton (and I know I don’t have to describe any of her outfits).
What concerns me about these comments is that so many people, from all walks of life, are so quick to point fingers and with such venom in their tone. And, yes…I am talking to the mother of three teenagers, which is an even more troubling can of worms to open. Do you talk to your mother with that mouth? ALL CAPS…me thinks thou doth protesteth too much. Something tells me from a psychological standpoint, you may be opining on a topic that hits close to home. Take that finger you are pointing at Kellie Pickler and turn it back in on yourself (Ms.weluvtaylorhicks)! Sometimes you should just ask yourself “What would Jesus do?” and then…lighten up. Maybe you should start making diamonds since you are wound so tight!
Whatever avenue Kellie pursues I hope she continues to do it with the same genuine approach that charmed me and the rest of the world during the audition faze of AI.

This is crazy. What kind of a person would degrade themselves so low that they feel they need to show off as much skin as possible? I don’t watch ‘Idol’ often, but if she has a beautiful voice, then she should use it. Even if I don’t watch it, I do believe that ‘Idol’ is about finding the person with the most talent in singing, not finding the hottest person. She’s a very pretty girl, but she’s going down the wrong path to try to get herself noticed. Unfortunately that’s a lot of what most people look for in a person these days…how hot they are. And who has the better bf/gf? The one who has the hottest one.
I feel for those people who think that is the truth when it’s not.
